Welcome to iPodtopia
Welcome to a site dedicated to the
iPod, the portable music player made by Apple.
In 2001 the music world took a dramatic leap forward as the
iPod was released. Never, since Sony introduced the Walkman, has a portable music player created such a whirlwind of interest and adoration. From 2001 to the present day, the Apple
iPod has defined modern culture and lifestyle, continually changing and evolving, while staying true to the original concept. More recently Apple have added the
iPod Shuffle and
iPod Nano to their
iPod range.

The latest
iPods can play MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, Protected AAC, AIFF, Audible audiobook, and Apple Lossless audio file formats. The
iPod can also play video file formats. These can be transferred from your own music library using the
iTunes software, or can be bought online at the
iTunes Music Store.
Introduced in 2003, the
iTunes Music Store sells individual songs at an affordable price using the Apple AAC format. The
iPod is the only portable music player that can playmusic purchased
online at the
iTunes Music Store.
